Chief Information Officer, HBF
David studied Commerce/Law and started his career in Chartered Accountancy, before being drawn to the innovation and buzz of Silicon Valley in the 1990s, where he applied his accounting background as a Product Manager for Oracle designing the Client Server, GUI, and Internet versions of the Oracle Financials application suite, which is used throughout the world by tens of thousands of organisations today.
David spent ten years at Oracle working in the USA, UK, Singapore, and Australia but reached a point where he became frustrated with explaining to clients what needed to be done but rarely seeing it executed to its optimum. So he put his money where his mouth is and embarked upon his CIO career helping organisations gain a competitive advantage through Information Technology. He has held Executive positions with BHP Billiton, Newmont Mining, and is currently the Group Chief Information Officer at HBF, based in Perth Australia.
